I attended Peggy's Christmas party this past Saturday. It was great fun. We danced and my sock monkey solo cup took 2nd place!
12/12/12~I started my new career as an (Memory Care) Activity Assistant today. Well, actually I had orientation today. I'm thrilled with the opportunity to "pay it forward" and assist those with a need. I know it will be rewarding in ways that can't really be measured!

I was prompted to check the cell phone and recharge it late in the day Thursday. It said I had 1 missed message which I retrieved shortly before going to bed. Initially there was some confusion over when the message was left. It was a call from a prospective employer asking if I could come in the following day for a preliminary interview. I returned the call Friday morning and interviewed @ 11 am. It is for an Activity Assistant in long term care to work with patients who have varying degrees of dementia. I left somewhat optimistic about the interview. Luke, who interviewed me, said he really, really, really liked me and my enthusiasm but had some reservations about bringing me in to work with these particular patients. He said he would check with Shelly who gave the tour to get her assessment and think on it. At the very least he told me he'd like to see me working with other patients and if I didn't get called for this position he would get my name/resume circulated for another within the facility.
This weekend I finished assembling the black & gray purse for Rachael.
My sister and I caught up in a long overdue call. She had seen pictures of the Granny Square Bag on facebook and said she thought purple and black would look real nice (hint, hint). We always promise and intend to stay in touch but we both struggle doing so. It was good chatting with her.

WOW, I received a box of books I won in a contest from MNN (Mother Nature Network) today and I was pleasantly surprised by the generous selection! I was becoming skeptical about it being legitimate or not due to the length of time that had passed. Obviously it was legit!

RedHat Granny Square Bag
In desperate withdrawl from crocheting over Thanksgiving...
What's not to love about this adorable Granny Square Bag?
Crocheted bag this past weekend and finished sewing it up today, Monday. It works up so nice. I'm sure to make several more. Tutorial can be found at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1l_vvRxT34g
Many THANKS to Clare for sharing the pattern!

I did it! I've been wanting to attempt learning Zumba in a class setting. It was quite the workout. The other women would be stepping left as I'd be stepping right and they'd be circling around one way as I'd catch myself circling the other. How on earth does one step down on their own foot? I had fun though and everyone was kind. Will I go again? Hmmm...perhaps.

After our walk today, Thursday, Bill mowed the yard. At 12:56 the radar was ominous and it the red was on us but at 1:15 it had barely started to sprinkle. I hurried out and moved the bench so he could finish and then trimmed around the stoops and swept. It started raining just as he made his last pass or two. It was truly a Godwink to have gotten it finished!

Ughhh, woke up with a sore throat and raw chest. You know, when the air that you breath actually irritates your lungs. It's early in the season for a cold but I'm going to build my immunity for the rest of the season! It seemed fitting to put my "Crabby Bill's" t-shirt on.
These are so cute! I'm going to turn a "Worry" Doll into a Red Hat Doll.

It feels much like a fall day out today. What a pleasant change after the oppressive heat that we've become accustomed to.
Yep, it's said something magical happens when you put on your first red hat! ~ Smile ~ Shout out to Ginny Spillman, Queen Mum of The Red Hat Dazzlers for her warm welcome and invite to join the chapter anytime for their monthly luncheons.

Feed the Cat (inside) - Feed the Birds (outside)
This is the morning routine when my feet hit the floor.
This morning I was feeding the birds and heard a loud buzzing directly at my right ear lobe. I automatically jerked to the left to get away from what undoubtedly was a bee when much to my suprise a hummingbird hovers in front of my face momentarily and flies away just as two more appear within arms reach also hovering mid-air looking directly at my face. ~ Blessed moments ~ put pure joy in my heart first thing this morning!

Here it is, the coveted Red Hat.
Ms Goody Two-Boots is looking to join a chapter on the west/northwest side of Indy. Looking forward to making new friends and fun memories. I didn't go "Gutsy" for National Hoot Day. Last time I drove downtown for a Women of Faith Conference it costs me $20 to park for 4 hrs. I am unfamiliar with the downtown area and it was bustling that day with several events taking place, I was forced to park in a parking garage.
Yay, I found a local Zumba class and am seriously considering going. It's always intrigued me and looks like such a fun workout.

Grocery shopping done this morning, we got a cookout in before it rained. I don't know if I'll ever eat another burger without avocado, tomatoe and onion slices. It was so good! We're so very thankful for rain because like so much of the country we've been in a severe drought all summer.
I made a GIANT paper flower this afternoon and hung it on the corner wall in my home office.
And yes, keeping in Red Hat theme, it is purple. I didn't have red paper on hand. It makes me happy. Not sure if I like it with or without the leaves though.
Tomorrow is the 2nd annual RHS/Red Hat Society Worldwide Hoot at the Hard Rock Cafe. I didn't make a reservation for this event. The last time I drove downtown for a Women of Faith Conference I ended up paying $20 to park in a parking garage for 4 hrs. The GPS will get me where I'm going and back but parking is another thing. I am a "Gutsy" Girl but really don't care to go downtown on the weekend.

Well, Tuesday I received my red hat after having become an official Ruby Red Hatter last Friday. That was quick because the order confirmation said to allow up to 2-3 weeks for it to arrive. Can't wait to get started adorning it. I need to get some red and purple yarn to make some additional assessories. My RRH name is Ms Janice. This will be fun. I'm looking forward to meeting some new playmates and making lifetime friends. Hmmmm, maybe I need to change my page color.
Yesterday we biked 10+ miles on the White River Canal Bike Path beginning at the Indianapolis Arts Garden Museum. It was 95 degrees and a lovely afternoon. I took 37 pictures to capture it all. It was great fun and we plan on going back to bike in the opposite direction. It will dawn some added beauty this fall.
